Glory and Grace

Two words have echoed in my brain since we arrived on this island.  The same two words He has pointed out to me consistently in His Word since we arrived.  Repeated, bolded, and emphasized scribbles on nearly a dozen pages over the last 44 days.

This morning, I had an editing project that needed tackling.  And I had a conversation with my morning Mentor.

Where should I read this morning?  Or do I just dive into the editing?

Psalm 84.

I’ve been studying it for days now, and I’m barely halfway through.

But I don’t want to study in-depth.  I don’t have time this morning.

Just read it.

So I did.  Slowly.  Quietly to myself.  Brushing my hand on the page when I came to verse six.  The text is Spirit-heavy with Him.  And rich with the legacy of her.  And then these brown eyes laid upon those black words that He had prepared this morning for our spiritual breakfast together:

For the LORD is a sun and shield;
the LORD will give grace and glory;
no good thing will He withold
from those who walk uprightly.
– Psalm 84:11

In an attempt to keep my business page separate from this completely new-to-me world of writing, I’ve created a brand new Facebook page – aptly titled Glory and Grace.  I’d love to have you join me.

Happy Weekend.

When sharing our story, I’m incredibly cautious to not promise something to women that God has not specifically promised them Himself. (After losing my best friend to cancer, I’m very well aware of the stories in which God chooses not to perform the miracle inside of your body.)

So I was really unsure of what part of our story to lean into last weekend as I prepared to speak at @hannah.g.barnett. When I asked, I felt God keep saying “I’ll tell you when you get there.” Okay, God. That’s kind of a lot.

And then I met a woman inside the museum of Elvis Presley’s birthplace. And God reminded me again that, whether or not He chooses to perform that miracle inside of your body, just believing He CAN do the impossible is enough.
